The network of cross-country trails in the Paznaun connects all the villages from See to Galtür and offers routes to suit every ability. Whether you’re looking for gentle valley trails for beginners or challenging high-altitude trails for ambitious cross-country skiers – you’ll find your perfect route here.
The trails take you through unspoilt winter landscapes, past snow-covered forests and with views of the imposing peaks of the Silvretta. Classic or skating – the choice is yours. All trails are groomed daily and are clearly signposted.
The free ski bus, accessible with your guest card, takes you comfortably to all starting points. This means you can discover a new route every day without having to worry about parking.
Mathon–Galtür cross-country ski trail

One of the most beautiful routes starts practically on the doorstep of Alp Larain: the cross-country ski trail linking Mathon and Galtür. Over a distance of around 6 kilometres, you’ll glide leisurely through the valley landscape, surrounded by snow-capped peaks and the tranquillity of the mountains.
This medium-difficulty trail is perfect for anyone looking for an alternative to a day’s skiing or simply wanting to experience nature in a different way. The start is just a few minutes’ walk from Alp Larain!
Höhenloipe Bielerhöhe
A cross-country skiing experience at over 2,000 metres
For those who prefer a greater challenge, the high-altitude cross-country trail on the Bielerhöhe is an absolute highlight. At 2,032 metres above sea level, a spectacular backdrop awaits you, with views of the Silvretta reservoir and the surrounding three-thousand-metre peaks.
The 6-kilometre circular trail is of medium to high difficulty and rewards you with views you won’t forget in a hurry. Up here, you can feel the power of the mountains and the absolute freedom of winter. A real experience for every cross-country skier!
You can easily reach the Bielerhöhe by car via the Silvretta High Alpine Road – which is cleared all the way to the Bielerhöhe in winter.
